Frequently Asked Questions
You may have many questions about counselling and what I can offer and hopefully I have answered them here, but if you cannot find what you are looking for please do not hesitate to contact me and I will reply as soon as I can.
How do I know if you are the right counsellor for me?
I offer a free 30 minute consultation where I will ask you some questions to help us establish what it is you want to work on and what your goals are (although you may not know this at the time and that is okay). This will give us the opportunity to decide whether we can develop a trusting relationship that will be supportive for you. If we agree to work together, we will agree a day and time for your sessions and I will email you my contract for you to read, sign and return before your first session begins.
Do you offer concessionary rates?
Yes, I offer a few slots at a reduced rate, please contact me for availability.
How many sessions will I need?
As everyone is a unique individual this will differ for each person. Therapy sessions can vary from one session, 6 sessions, months or longer. It is important to remember that it is your choice how long you continue your sessions for so long as we are working ethically (that we are working towards a goal/s that we have agreed).
How often will I need to attend?
To get the best from your therapy sessions are usually weekly on the same day at the same time for continuity. However, as unique individuals we have different needs and this will be explored and agreed at assessment.
What if I cannot attend or need to change my sessions?
As each person is a unique individual and life is real, I would discuss this on an individual needs at the appropriate time.
